Description
These are insulated, closed-end wire connectors designed for safely terminating and insulating the ends of electrical wires. They are commonly used to join multiple conductors together, preventing short circuits and providing a secure, reliable connection.
Features:
- Material: The housing is made from a high-quality, flame-retardant plastic or nylon, providing excellent electrical insulation.
- Design: The connectors feature a closed-end, bullet-shaped design that fully encloses the spliced wires, protecting them from environmental factors and physical damage.
- Internal Construction: Inside the cap, there is a tin-plated copper or brass insert. This metal ferrule is where the stripped wires are inserted and then crimped to create a strong, low-resistance electrical connection.
- Sizes: There are 3 different size in a Pack. 1AWG, 2AWG and 5AWG.
- Installation: These connectors require a crimping tool for proper installation. The wires are twisted together, inserted into the cap, and then the cap is crimped using the tool to secure the connection.
Common Applications:
- Terminating wire ends in lighting fixtures, appliances, and electronic devices.
- Creating secure splices in electrical wiring for both low and high voltage applications.
- DIY electrical projects, automotive wiring, and general household repairs.
- Joining multiple wires in junction boxes.
Benefits:
- Safety: The insulated body and closed-end design provide a high level of safety by preventing accidental contact with live wires.
- Reliability: Once properly crimped, the connection is strong, durable, and resistant to vibration.
- Versatility: Available in various sizes to handle different wire gauge combinations.
- Ease of Use: Simple to install with a standard crimping tool.
